Microfiber pollution is a growing environmental problem. When garments are washed, they release tiny plastic fibers into the water. Mermaids Research Project estimates that between 6,000,000 and 17,000,000,000 plastic microfibres are shed per wash. These microfibers can end up in the ocean, where they can harm marine life and enter the food chain.
The Laundry by INDITEX is the first detergent designed to reduce microfiber release. It was developed in partnership with BASF, a leading chemical company.
